The military has a course for everything, except for discharging. Fact is, once our discharge papers are in, we are on our own. I personally didn’t have anybody help or guide me when I discharged and I found it to be a difficult time. But now, after spending years working with civilians, I know what makes us veterans different. My work is designed to help other active duty men and women navigate their discharge journey, with a focus on knowing what to anticipate before entering a new civilian career. In less than 2 years, I went from knowing nothing about civilian industry or work, to running civilian project teams across the U.S and Europe. My point is… don’t sell yourself short, veterans are more capable than we give ourselves credit for.
